Brooksource is seeking a mid-level Production Support Engineer to join our Fortune 12 Healthcare Insurance client's Enabler Production Support Optimization Space. This team's focus is maintaining high-quality web applications while adhering to enterprise development best practices. This is a highly collaborative team that supports some of the most critical features in Provider and Client web-based applications. General Summary:
Production Support Engineer who is highly technical, motivated and has experience maintaining client facing web applications that are using the technologies listed above. Required to perform hands-on code triage and analysis, offering quick fixes for issues impacting applications. The focus of the workload is to identify and rectify technical and functional challenges within the organization's technology space. This role requires someone who has expert knowledge on executing and instructing end-to-end solutions to web application problems. They are expected to work closely with developers, technical project managers, principal engineers and business stakeholders to ensure that application issues reported by customers are resolved according to business requirements and customer satisfaction.
Expectations/Responsibilities:
- Engage in technical triaging, troubleshooting and problem resolution on functional and technical issues.
- Ability to navigate through technologies, frontend to backend, to analyze and trace issues.
- Ability to examine into technical issues impacting databases, caching, infrastructure and applications in order to arrive at solutions.
- Analyze advanced, distributed solutions that process, store, and quickly retrieve huge volumes of data to identify root cause.
- Triage functional and technically complex customer reported issues in a distributed environment.
- Create, develop, utilize application monitoring solutions such as Splunk, Dynatrace and Tealeaf to react to ad hoc alerts and enhance application availability and performance in production.
- Ad hoc demand when supporting managed incidents and time sensitive outages.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills – able to thoroughly document issues, findings, learnings to ensure resolutions and takeaways are understood by all teammates and peers.
- Be part of a fast-paced team while adhering to SLAs (Service Level Agreements) while working with internally developed tools and open-source technologies.
- Develop/propose innovative approaches on process improvements.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of work experience in application maintenance or development.
- College degree (Bachelor’s) in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience.
- Familiarity with most of the following technologies: Angular, Java, Python, Mongo DB and ability to understand complex architectures.
- Familiarity with Cloud Services – AWS, EKS, OpenShift, ArgoCD.
- Experience in analyzing RESTful, SOAP web services.
- Knowledge of Postman or other API testing tools.
- Strong technical and analytical skills with an emphasis in quantitative research of understanding impact analysis.
- Demonstrate ability to perform root cause analysis and suggest rectification options.
- Ability to navigate and understand API error codes, rate limits, synthetic monitoring and observability patterns.
- Strong facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions.
